History Of ARA Ashford Radio Aeromodellers was formed back in the late 1960's in response to the increasing interest in flying radio controlled model aircraft. The Club was one of the founder members of the Inter Club League, which was created to provide a wider arena for those modellers who like competitions. The club has seen many changes during its brief history. From the early days of "flaky" single channel control to reliable, multi-channel proportional radio that has extended the scope of modelling to include helicopters and gas turbine powered airframes. Where will it all end? Imagination only seems to be the limiting factor. Within our club we have members who follow a wide variety of interests and tastes in aero-modelling. Just about everything is catered for: flying in all its forms; gliding, I/C or electric power in the widest range of air frames imaginable. |
